Embossed Black and White Beauty

Heat embossing is one of those things that always brings the wow factor to any project.  Add a black and white color scheme to the mix and you have the recipe for a knockout card!

So here's the paper you'll need for this project:

Whisper White: 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Whisper White 5 1/4" X 4"
Chalkboard Paper: 2 3/4" X 4"

Grab a Tea Lace Paper Doily and some Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon and White Cotton Ribbon and we're ready to stamp!

Emboss your 5 1/4" X 4" Whisper White layer with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.
Run your Embossing Buddy across your Chalkboard paper.  Be sure that the 'velvety' side is up. With White Craft ink, stamp your sentiment and flower. Heat emboss them with Whisper White embossing powder.  Using the 6th from the smallest Circle Framelits cut out the flower from your Chalkboard Paper piece.  Be sure to leave enough room for the doily!  You don't want to cut too close to your sentiment, or the doily will cover it.
Now for assembly:
Using SNAIL adhesive, adhere the remaining sentiment layer onto your embossed piece of Whisper White.  Wrap a piece of Black Taffeta Ribbon just under your piece of Chalkboard Paper around the Embossed piece adhering it to the back with scotch tape.  Now you can use Dimensionals to adhere the embossed layer to the front of your card.
Place the doily over the missing piece of Chalkboard paper and line it up so that you can still see the sentiment.  Using SNAIL attach your flower piece to the doily.  Trim the sides of the doily to match the edges of the flower piece.  Use Dimensionals to adhere this part to the card lining it up with the Chalkboard Paper.
With a piece of Whisper White Cotton Ribbon and Black Taffeta Ribbon together, thread it under the Black Taffeta piece on the front of your card.  Tie it in a knot, trim the ends, and your card is complete!

Mother's Love Sketch

I'm back!! Finally! Back to the normal hustle and bustle of my life!
It was a true blessing to be part of that fundraiser, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to dedicate to everything, so I wasn't able to share any creations with you all for a week!
Hopefully I will be able to make it up to you!
I organize a monthly Sketch and Color Challenge for an upline's group and love it!
I love being creative and challenging myself to think 'outside the box' and of course challenges help us do just that!  Here are the challenges this month:

Here is my version:

I combined the Sketch and Color Challenge to create this card.  Although it's hard to see, the Calypso Coral piece is embossed with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder from the Occasions Catalog.  The ribbon is our White Organza Ribbon, but I've taken a Pistachio Pudding Stampin' Write Marker and colored it to match my card!

You can see that the flower image especially looks almost watercolored which partly is the stamp, but I chose to use Naturals White Card Stock instead of Whisper White.  I like the natural feel it gives to this card!  Enjoy!

Fundraising Success!!!

I am beyond happy to report that our Stamp For Autism Fundraiser was a HUGE success!  Not only was it a fun day filled with stamping, food and friends but we had raffles galore!  We had everything from gift certificates, gift baskets, flower planters and everything in between!!
We had 3 tables FULL of raffle baskets!  We had Scentsy, 31, Meat Market Gift Certificates, Jamberry, Tastefully Simple, Jewlery, Brewery Gift Certificates, Winery Certificates, a HUGE UTZ basket, succulent planters, flower planters, Tupperware, a handmade wrought iron card rack (made by my amazing husband!) and so much more!!!
Lunch was delicious!  Sandwiches, salad and soup!
Door prizes every 30 minutes!  7 beautiful projects to create!
A room full of happy stampers was the result!
I made a deal with my fellow demonstrators, that if we sold this event out, which we did!!!, I would wear a tutu...and of course as you can see above, I held true to my promise!
So much laughter and fun came together to create some beautiful projects while raising money for a wonderful charity!  Our charity of choice was The Amazing Kids Club.  You can see more information HERE about this wonderful program here in our community!
Of course the most exiting news of all is how much we raised...I'm sure you are just dying to know right!?!  Well....drumroll please......we raised a grand total of just over.....
$3,600!!!!!!
Maybe I'm biased, but I think we did an awesome job!  Demonstrators came together and donated product to create the projects and other supplies needed, Business owners generously offered goods and services for our overflowing raffle tables and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hanover graciously allowed us to use their banquet room and made us a lovely meal from which they will donate all fees!!!  Events like these make my heart just swell with pride not only for the people who put it together, but for the people who take the hard earned money from their pockets and time from their busy lives to take part in serving our community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every person who helped make this event such a success from demonstrators to customers and everyone in between!  You each had an important role in making this an amazing event, and know that your contribution makes a difference in the lives of children in our community!  The Amazing Kids Club will be able to delegate the money raised for programs to help autistic children live happier lives, and you were a part of that!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Autism Awareness Day

Today is Autism Awareness Day!  Do you love someone with Autism?  I think we all know someone with it, and today is a great day to bring attention to those people we care about!  Raising money for those with Autism is essential to not only improving their daily life and opportunities but also to research to better manage and hopefully some day reduce the prevalence of it.
I'm so proud to be part of the PROVERBial Stampers Team of Demonstrators dedicated to raising money for The Amazing Kids Club in our community.  Next Saturday, April 11th, we will be co-hosting a stamping event to help support this amazing charity!  All of the proceeds will be donated to the Amazing Kids Club by TrueNorth Wellness Services in Hanover, PA.
