May's Paper Pumpkin is nothing short of awesome! The Stamps included in this month's kit are so versatile! The card in the center at the top is created the way My Paper Pumpkin suggested, there are 4 of those cards, which of course you could substitute greetings as needed. It also came with 2 of those cute little 3X3 cards to the right, however I created mine completely different than shown on the kit. I used only the products supplied in the kit to create all 3 of the cards, with the help of my Envelope Punch Board for the Gift Card Holder. The gift box is made using one sheet of 8 1/2"X11" Very Vanilla Card Stock and a 4"X6 1/2" piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. Everything else came from the kit!
The box is a super easy one to create and will fit a nice amount of goodies for any man in your life!
Start with the piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. Looking at it in landscape orientation (horizontally) score it at 4 1/2" and 6 1/2". Then flip it 90 degrees and score it at 2" and 6 1/2" in portrait orientation (vertically).
Once you have your score lines made, you need to trim up on the small squares seen above. If you trim out a bit of a 'notch' when you cut these lines, your box will go together better for you when you assemble it. With the outside of the box facing up, place two small strips of Sticky Strip along the square tabs you just created. Flip the box over and apply Sticky Strip to 2 of the top pieces along the edge.
You can then assemble your box. Start by folding the tabs in and removing the Sticky Strip. Bring up the walls to your box and adhere the side WITHOUT Sticky Strip to the tab. Then remove the Sticky Strip on the longer piece and bring that wall up matching the edges and adhering them down. That will form your box.
For the top of your box you will score at 15/16" on all four side. I recommend using your Stampin' Trimmer for this part. The measurements are super easy to use with this tool so you get an accurate score line. Then trim up on those score lines with your box lid in landscape orientation as seen above. Notching out those tabs again like we did with the box bottom will create a better fit when you put it together. Put a small piece of Sticky Strip on each of the 4 edges seen above and 'bring up the walls' and adhere to create the lid for your box. Next decorate your box however you wish. I used a piece leftover from my kit and then tied some of the Soft Suede Baker's Twine around the box to keep it closed and looped it through my gift tag on the front.
