CARD CANDY!

Quartrefancy Starburst/Sunburst

I used the Quartrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper for this beautiful card.  Using the Starburst/Sunburst technique I created this pattern that is sure to impress!  This technique is perfect for Designer Series Paper to showcase it in all it's beauty, but you could certainly do this with cardstock as well!  I've embossed my "sunburst" with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder before putting it on my card to add a little texture and dimension.  I finished it off with a piece of our Organza Ribbon and Grosgrain Daffodil Delight Ribbon.  The sentiment comes from a hostess set called Morning Meadow.  I will be doing an upcoming video on this technique soon!

Sweet and Simple

This super cute card is sure to brighten anyone's birthday!  I started with Crumb Cake (Kraft) card stock for the card base.  I cut a piece of the same color at 5 1/4" X 4" and ran it through my Big Shot embossing only 3/4 of the paper with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Next, I stamped the saying "It's not about how many candles you blow out but how many cupcakes you get!" from the Create a Cupcake stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink.  By using the Boho Blossom Punch and the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch I created each of these adorable little flowers in the following colors; Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.  I added each layer to the previous layer using a glue dot and finished the centers off with a small rhinestone.  This simple card is made stunning by the use of bright colors on a muted tone like Crumb Cake.  I love it and hope you do too!

Monochromatic and Beautiful

I have often found that I am drawn to cards that use only one or two colors.  Their simplicity intrigues me, and even though this card does have many layers to it, it still appears as a "simple beauty".  The cardstock colors include Whisper White, Smokey Slate and Silver Glimmer Paper.  I stamped the image of the bird from the Simply Sketched hostess set in Black StazOn and the sentiment from the same stamp set in Smokey Slate.  I used a blender pen and Smokey Slate ink on the tail of the bird to create some more dimension.  Cutting out the Whisper White and Glimmer Paper with the Labels Collection Framelits added an elegant feel to the card.  When I embossed the Smokey Slate piece I only embossed about 3/4 of the way down the paper so I would have a space to stamp my sentiment.  I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder and then punched the edges with the corner punch.  Rhinestones under the sentiment added the finishing touch to this card.

I am absolutely blessed to have the most amazing mom.  She has been my number one fan since the day I was born.  I made this card for her birthday this year.  It's a 3 step/accordion fold card.  The supplies I used were: Very Vanilla Cardstock, Quartrefancy designer series paper, Simply Pressed Clay and Flower Molds, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Papillion Potpourri stamp set, Pansy Punch, 7/8" scallop circle punch, Costal Cabana Ink, Tea Lace Doily, Word Window Punch, sentiment from Create a Cupcake stamp set and Organza Ribbon.  The colors in this card are Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Costal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding.  I added several drops of reinker to my simply pressed clay to match my flowers to my card, I also used a Stampin' Spritzer to color my white Organza Ribbon to match.  The dimensions for the paper in this card are as follows:
Very Vanilla 4 1/4" X 11" - scored the long way at 1 3/8", 2 1/2", 4 3/8", 6, and 8 1/4"
Very Vanilla 4 1/8" X 5" for the back part of the card.
Designer Series Paper- 3 pieces total 4 X 4 7/8" , 4 X 1 1/4" and 4 X 1 5/8"

You will fold your piece of Very Vanilla accordian style.  Be sure to crease those score lines well with a bone folder.  Adhere your pieces of designer series paper with snail and decorate.  The card back piece should be adhered after it has been decorated, only apply snail to the bottom portion and adhere it to the inside of the last "fold".  The card should stand as it appears on its own.

I hope you enjoy this card, and I hope my mom does too.
