Gorgeous Grunge

I am in LOVE with this stamp set!  The best part is it's part of the 25% off Promotion, but it's only available until October 28th for that amazing sale!
This set is beyond versatile!  I can see so many uses for it!  I made a playful feminine card here, but you could do kids cards, masculine cards and so much more!
I used Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush and Whisper White for this card.
The butterfly is from Papillion Potpourri and the sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts.
Super unique card for someone special in your life!

Halloween Treat

We are getting super excited about Halloween in our house!  With three little kids, Halloween is a really fun time of year for our family.  Annual pumpkin patch visit, pumpkin carving, choosing costumes and indulging in far too much candy past your bedtime...it just doesn't get any better!
The following project is one I did as gift for each of my daughter's class mates at preschool.  Super easy to put together and so much fun to "open"!

This cute little creation contains a mini bag of popcorn!  The best part is when the child pulls the ribbon and the top the popcorn pops out and easily can be pushed back down!  So stinking cute!
The supplies you will need are a 6"X 11" piece of cardstock or designer series paper (I chose Old Olive Cardstock).  A belly band that is 1" X 11", I chose the chevron pattern in Rich Razzleberry in my Brights Collection DSP Paper Stack.  The only other thing you need is about 15"-20" of Ribbon.
Fold your cardstock/dsp around your popcorn leaving a little room for movement.  Use SNAIL or sticky strip to adhere the flap.  Wrap the belly band around and use SNAIL to attach it.  Take your bag of popcorn out and at the top of your pocket, punch a hole using a regular sized hole punch at the top about 1/2" down while holding both the front and the back together.  Thread your ribbon through the front and through the back hole.  After evening out your ribbon place your popcorn bag on top of your ribbon and push down until the entire popcorn bag is in the pocket.  Then take the two ends of ribbon and tie a bow or a knot like shown.  Decorate and there you go!  A cute little gift to give someone this Halloween!

Festive Flurry

Can you imagine this beautiful snowflake hanging from a gift bag?  How about lots of them hung on the Christmas tree?  Hung up with that beautiful 1/8" Silver Taffeta Ribbon...it's just so pretty!

I created this 2D Snowflake using Festive Flurry stamp set in the 2013 Holiday Catalog and coordinating Framelits.  The colors I chose were Bermuda Bay and Pool Party for the largest and third largest snowflakes.  The second largest snowflake is actually Silver glimmer Paper and the smallest snowflake is on Silver Foil Sheets.  I stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Heat and Stick Powder, and then Dazzling Diamonds.  It's stunning in person!
This beauty might just make it to our November classes!

Custom Night Light

There is a lot more to paper crafting than just cards.  I admit, cards are my weakness and first love, but sometimes its fun to mix it up a little and see what kinds of crafts you can make using paper in non-conventional ways!  This seasonal night light was super easy to create and could be switched out so easily!  I bought this "half lamp shade" style night light at my local craft store for a few dollars.  I made a pattern from the lamp shade portion and added 1/2" on each of the sides (not the top and bottom, just the sides).  I then traced my pattern onto a piece of Vellum cardstock.  I stamped my leaf image from the Best of Autumn stamp set in Black StazOn ink.
I then colored the leaves with my Pumpkin Pie
Stampin' Write Marker.  I attached a strip of
my Old Olive 1/8" taffeta ribbon to the top and bottom of the with tombo multipurpose liquid glue and folded each of the sides around the sides of the lamp shade.  The Vellum does a great job of maintaining the shape you put it in, so it wraps around the edges of the shade and holds beautifully.  I didn't use any extra adhesive to keep the vellum on, although you could certainly use a glue dot for a little extra reassurance.  You could do so many different
variations of this project, the choices are endless!
Coordinate it with your décor, do a seasonal take onit or make the perfect addition to your baby's
nursery!

World Card Making Day

I hope you were inspired to create a card on Saturday, October 5th World Card Making Day!
I made several cards, but this one was my favorite!
I wanted to share with you how I made it so that you can create one of your own.
I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and with my Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry ink pads and sponges I sponged randomly to create this look.  After I was happy with the look I then took the
leaf from my Best of Autumn stamp set and inked it with Soft Suede ink.  I stamped my image several times.  I then took another sponge and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink again.
I then just finished the card as seen by mounting it on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, then Very Vanilla.  I used a piece of designer series paper from the Sweater Weather pack under the Chocolate Chip Chevron Ribbon and stamped the "Give Thanks" sentiment again from my Best of Autumn Stamp Set.  A beautiful card to send anyone this fall season!

Halloween is coming!

Before you know it parents will be
dressing their kids up and sorting through
bags of candy!  Halloween is a holiday
that people seem to either love or hate.
I personally really like Halloween.
Especially since we've had children it really
makes you enjoy the little things in life.
Although I may not know what are children
will be dressing up as this Halloween just
yet, I assure you I already have a stack of
cute little Halloween cards ready to go out
to my friends and family!
This cute little card really showcases
our Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape #132156.  I took a 3"X4" piece of Whisper White cardstock and covered it with the washi tape, then used my Extra Large Oval Punch (#119859)  to create a "window".
Using the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from my Delightful Dozen (WM#128547, CM#122652) I stamped with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder.  You could definitely use Pumpkin Pie embossing powder if you had that on hand too!
Using some Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119261) I tied a quick bow and put one of those adorable little Summer Starfruit buttons left over from my Halloween Banner Kit on top with a glue dot.  On the inside of the card I used my Halloween Happiness stamp set (#131859) in pumpkin pie ink and ran another strip of my Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape along the side.
I hope you enjoy this cute Halloween card as much as I do!
