Vintage Kinda Eclectic

Although I don't do nearly enough of them, vintage cards are one of my favorites.  They are the ones you just want to stare at for hours looking at all the little details.  Although the Kinda Eclectic set doesn't 'scream' vintage, it certainly can lend itself to a vintage card.  Being a vintage card there are a lot of elements, but sometimes busy can be great!  

When trying to go for a vintage feel use Very Vanilla card stock instead of Whisper White.  Choose subtle colors rather than brights.  Browns and Linen Thread are also good things to use.  The DSP on this project is actually from the Typeset Specialty DSP.  It's not our traditional DSP, it's more like paper from a older book.  It's amazing!  As you can see the edges are roughed up a bit and lifting in some places, and that's what I want.  I've gently sponged everything with Crumb Cake ink to enhance the 'vintage feel'.

Blended Bloom Decor

I walked away from Convention with so many ideas and new techniques.  This beautiful flower is done with nothing more than the Blended Bloom stamp, a black ink pad and Project Life Journaling Pens.  When I finished with it I went to put it on a card and decided it was so pretty it deserved a frame.  I used the one from our Paper Pumpkin kit in April.  

I did layer this flower, although you can't see it that well from the photo.  I stamped 3 times and did the petals accordingly.  The bottom layer is the whole flower, then the next layer is popped up with dimensionals and the last layer is only a few petals also popped up with dimensionals.  It gives it a more 3D look.

I do plan to do a video on this technique soon, but in the meantime I made up a little 'cheat sheet' on explaining how to get this look.  Enjoy!  Let me know if you have any questions!

Masculine Monday #6

This card is crazy easy and crazy awesome!  Who wouldn't love to get this one?! It's two stamp sets, ink and paper.  Nice and easy, quick and cute!  

See that cool starburst type image behind the sentiment?  That comes from Kinda Eclectic.  I'm loving that set for so many things right now.  Amazing Birthday is the star stamp set with that big image.  I stamped it twice, once in Lost Lagoon and once in Real Red.  I just fussy cut the "amazing" part and popped it up on a few Dimensionals to give it some extra pizzaz!

Simply Elegant Card
