Valentines Day Card

Valentines Day will be here before we know it!  With the 2014 Occasions Catalog going live in less than a week and Valentines Day just around the corner, this super cute card seemed fitting!  I used some of the new Designer Series Paper for the hearts, and new Bakers Twine.  The "love" banner is actually stamped with and punched with new products that will be available during Sale-a-bration!  So many new things to love in this upcoming catalog!

Gold is in!

I often find myself most in-love with clean and simple cards.  Of course over the top cards are beautiful too, but simple cards are gorgeous in their own right!
This card uses only one stamp set and washi tape (both will be available in the upcoming Occasions Catalog)  I chose to emboss the ampersand with gold embossing powder and let the beauty of this card stand on it's own.  No fancy embellishments or techniques, just some washi tape and heat embossing create a stunning yet simple card perfect for lots of occasions!

As always, if you need a catalog, please don't hesitate to shoot me and email and let me know.
I would love the opportunity to earn your business!

4 ounce Christmas Cups

Quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen!!!!

Okay....other than  my kids

These adorable little cups are made using 4oz coffee cups!  That's right, 4oz coffee cups!
They are so stinkin' cute!  They come just plain white, but of course that will not do for a paper crafter!  I cut apart one of my cups to design a template to use to trace on Season of Style designer series paper to cover my cup.  The Belly Band is make the same way, just create a template and then trace it onto the paper of your choice and cut it out.
To adhere the DSP to the cup I used a glue stick, although you could also use Tombo Multipurpose Glue or even Sticky Strip.  I like the glue stick because it covers completely, inexpensively and gives me a few moments once I put my paper on to get it 'just right'.  Once you DSP is glued on the cup you can attach your belly band.  You can do this the same way with a glue stick, tombo or Sticky Strip.  I found that my ends popped up a little bit after they had been glued, so I attached two glue dots to the ends to help keep it in place.  For my stamped image I used our Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp Set #134623.  If you haven't given Photopolymer a try yet, this is a great set to try!  So many images and they coordinate so well with our punches.  The photo of these cute little cups below includes just 3 of the 19 stamps included for just $13.95.`

I accented each of my little cups with our Silver Ribbon from the holiday catalog #132137 and filled them with some Hershey kisses.
The ideas for these cute cups are endless!
Christmas gift giving for coworkers, neighbors, friends, school teachers, mail carriers, your local coffee shop friend, the list goes on and on!  Baby Showers, Wedding Showers, Book Club, Women's Clubs, Church meetings, so many possibilities!
I hope you will give these cute little cups a try, so much fun!

Spinner Card

Spinner Card Get Well

Spinner cards are so much fun!  They are perfect for children because their "spinning" action can be enjoyed for the life of the card.  I will be posting a video to my YouTube channel very soon on how to do a Spinner Card, but it's actually quite simple!  There are a few things you will need to create this awesome project.
Word Window Punch
2 pennies
Lots of Dimensionals
A "spinable" item - in this case I used the Pansy Punch

The cardstock, Designer Series Paper and stamp sets are all subjective and can be any of your choosing.  I took a piece of Gingham Garden DSP and snailed it to the front of a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Then taking my Word Window Punch I slid the punch in the whole way so you can feel it hit the back of the punch at the center of my cardstock (watch the video for detailed instructions)  Move the punch over to either side lining up the DSP with the edge of the punch to ensure an even punch.  Take one of your pennies and put a dimensional in the middle of it, then without removing the backing, put it through the punched whole so the dimensional is now exposed on the FRONT SIDE of your cardstock.  Remove the backing and place another penny on top of that dimensional.  Place a dimensional on top of that penny and place your Pansy Punch (or whatever you choose) on top of that dimensional.  Now SHAKE IT, SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!  Rattle it around back and forth to help round out that dimensional and help your Pansy spin.  Once you are happy with the way it's spinning you can then attach it to the card base using dimensionals again.  Be sure to double stack the dimensionals around the "spinner".   It's not necessary to double stack all the dimensionals around the outside though.  The video will be posted soon to give you a visual of how this cool card is created!

Over the Top Embossing!

One of my favorite WOW techniques is heat embossing.  It's such a simple way to add texture and interest to so many projects.  For this card I chose to do all the stamped images with heat embossing.  Yep, that's right, all the stamped images are embossed!  I used white embossing powder for the snowflakes and the "snow" in the background and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder for the Merry Christmas sentiment.  I stamped the snowflakes using the Festive Flurry stamp set on Vellum cardstock, heat embossed them and cut them out with the coordinating framelits.
The "snow" in the background is actually from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set!  It's paint-splatter appearance is perfect for 'in the distance' snow.   I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!

Cherry Cobbler cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Vellum Cardstock
Silver Glimmer Paper
Greetings of the Season stamp set

Fun at Classes

I absolutely love getting people together in my home for stamping!
We always have so much fun!  It's a great opportunity for us to make new friends, and laugh.  Everyone needs to take some time for themselves, and this is a great way to do it.  We are all overworked and get tired of the daily grind.  Stamping gives us the chance to unwind and have some fun!  At this month's Class we had a yummy Cocoa Bar with lots of fun toppings and goodies, Christmas cookies and candy and Christmas music!  I even wore a Santa hat!
I had an amazing day with these ladies, hope you can join us next month when we will be playing BINGO!!!  Stampin' Bingo!  I will be sharing lots of Stampin' up products!

Chevron Birthday

I have been doing so many Christmas cards and projects lately, it was time to take a break and make something "pretty" and un-Christmas like.  One of my favorite colors right now is Coastal Cabana and I'm always looking for new ways to use it.  I decided to use that as my card base for this card and highlight some of my Afternoon Picnic designer series paper.  This paper is GORGEOUS.  The colors are so beautiful together, calming and some-what gender neutral.
I used the Label Love stamp set for the Happy Birthday sentiment and the Artisan Label Punch to punch it out perfectly.  I added a bit of interest behind the sentiment by punching another label with my Artisan Label Punch in Coastal Cabana.  Gorgeous Grunge is the set that added all those awesome splatters and images on my piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I used So Saffron, Costal Cabana and Old Olive ink to create that look.  I finished it off with a punch with the Chevron Border Punch and done!  I love love love this card right now!

Ghiradelli Treat Box

This super cute chocolate treat box is made using the Envelope Punch Board.  I'm always looking for new and exciting ways to use my tools in different ways, and creating boxes with the Punch Board is a piece of cake!  This little box would be perfect to give coworkers this holiday season, or a class room full of children.  It can easily be adapted to different holidays or even used as birthday favors!
Start with a piece of 5"X5" Cardstock.  On your punch board line the edge with your 2" mark, punch and score.  Then slide it over to the 2 5/8" mark and punch and score.  Then follow around counter clockwise matching both of the score lines on each side and punching and scoring until you have each side punched and scored.  Then take your Paper Snips and cut out each of the small squares formed, round your corners using the reverse punch on your Punch Board.  Take a glue dot to the point of one of the box folds and attach it to the opposing fold to start to form your box.  Then put another glue dot on each side of your bottom fold and bring it up to close the bottom of your box.
I decorated this box with the Label Love and A Round Array Stamp set in Christmas colors.

Supply List:
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
Envelope Punch Board

Colorful Christmas

Sometimes we get sick of the same old red and green combination for Christmas tags and cards.
This year blues and silvers seem to be very popular...well I took it a step farther and pulled out my Wisteria Wonder to create this soft and subtle snowflake tag and card.
By layering the snowflake on the tag above with dimensionals between each of the layers, it gives a lot of depth and beauty to the snowflake it self.  It's accented with a strip of our Silver Glimmer Paper, then a piece of our Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper and finally Wisteria Wonder cardstock.  I punched a hole at the top and used some of our beautiful 1/8" Silver Ribbon to tie it to a package.  The layers of snowflake, starting with the largest is Wisteria Wonder ink on Whisper White Cardstock, a snowflake die cut from Silver Glimmer Paper, one stamped with our Silver Encore pad on Wisteria Wonder cardstock and finally another one stamped with Wisteria Wonder ink on Whisper White cardstock, then decorated with Dazzling Diamonds using a 2-Way Glue Pen.

The card came together easily.  The card base is Wisteria Wonder Cardstock with a layer of Whisper White on the front that has been embossed with our Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.
I took a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered it with SNAIL.  Then stamped my sentiment "Merry Christmas" from the Greetings of the Season Stamp set it Wisteria Wonder, flagged the one end and used Tombo Multipurpose Glue to put that on my glimmer paper.  The snowflake is simply the smaller 3 snowflakes, the largest one is stamped on whisper white with wisteria wonder ink, the second is stamped with our silver encore pad on wisteria wonder cardstock and the last is stamped on whisper white with wisteria wonder ink and accented with dazzling diamonds.
Just put some rhinestones on the center of the snowflakes and you have a beautiful, completely non-traditional, but beautiful Christmas Card or tag.

A POP of color

Bright and Beautiful

Wreaths don't have to be just for the Holiday seasons.  I made this super colorful and cheerful curly paper wreath with some of the paper in our Brights Designer Series Paper Pack.
It's created the same way as the other wreaths I have done, just with some colorful flair!
This beautiful wreath would be perfect for summer time, a craft room, a children's bedroom door, anywhere you want some bright and cheerful color!

Halloween Treat

We are getting super excited about Halloween in our house!  With three little kids, Halloween is a really fun time of year for our family.  Annual pumpkin patch visit, pumpkin carving, choosing costumes and indulging in far too much candy past your bedtime...it just doesn't get any better!
The following project is one I did as gift for each of my daughter's class mates at preschool.  Super easy to put together and so much fun to "open"!

This cute little creation contains a mini bag of popcorn!  The best part is when the child pulls the ribbon and the top the popcorn pops out and easily can be pushed back down!  So stinking cute!
The supplies you will need are a 6"X 11" piece of cardstock or designer series paper (I chose Old Olive Cardstock).  A belly band that is 1" X 11", I chose the chevron pattern in Rich Razzleberry in my Brights Collection DSP Paper Stack.  The only other thing you need is about 15"-20" of Ribbon.
Fold your cardstock/dsp around your popcorn leaving a little room for movement.  Use SNAIL or sticky strip to adhere the flap.  Wrap the belly band around and use SNAIL to attach it.  Take your bag of popcorn out and at the top of your pocket, punch a hole using a regular sized hole punch at the top about 1/2" down while holding both the front and the back together.  Thread your ribbon through the front and through the back hole.  After evening out your ribbon place your popcorn bag on top of your ribbon and push down until the entire popcorn bag is in the pocket.  Then take the two ends of ribbon and tie a bow or a knot like shown.  Decorate and there you go!  A cute little gift to give someone this Halloween!

Supply List:
Old Olive Card Stock
Rich Razzleberry Card Stock
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Brights Paper Stack DSP
Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Labels Collection Framelits
Hole Punch
Halloween Happiness Stamp
Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers

Festive Flurry

Can you imagine this beautiful snowflake hanging from a gift bag?  How about lots of them hung on the Christmas tree?  Hung up with that beautiful 1/8" Silver Taffeta Ribbon...it's just so pretty!

I created this 2D Snowflake using Festive Flurry stamp set in the 2013 Holiday Catalog and coordinating Framelits.  The colors I chose were Bermuda Bay and Pool Party for the largest and third largest snowflakes.  The second largest snowflake is actually Silver glimmer Paper and the smallest snowflake is on Silver Foil Sheets.  I stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Heat and Stick Powder, and then Dazzling Diamonds.  It's stunning in person!
This beauty might just make it to our November classes!

Custom Night Light

There is a lot more to paper crafting than just cards.  I admit, cards are my weakness and first love, but sometimes its fun to mix it up a little and see what kinds of crafts you can make using paper in non-conventional ways!  This seasonal night light was super easy to create and could be switched out so easily!  I bought this "half lamp shade" style night light at my local craft store for a few dollars.  I made a pattern from the lamp shade portion and added 1/2" on each of the sides (not the top and bottom, just the sides).  I then traced my pattern onto a piece of Vellum cardstock.  I stamped my leaf image from the Best of Autumn stamp set in Black StazOn ink.
I then colored the leaves with my Pumpkin Pie
Stampin' Write Marker.  I attached a strip of
my Old Olive 1/8" taffeta ribbon to the top and bottom of the with tombo multipurpose liquid glue and folded each of the sides around the sides of the lamp shade.  The Vellum does a great job of maintaining the shape you put it in, so it wraps around the edges of the shade and holds beautifully.  I didn't use any extra adhesive to keep the vellum on, although you could certainly use a glue dot for a little extra reassurance.  You could do so many different
variations of this project, the choices are endless!
Coordinate it with your décor, do a seasonal take onit or make the perfect addition to your baby's
nursery!

For those who choose to participate for 3 consecutive months I will include in your 3rd month package a pack of one of the embellishments used in one of the cards (ie; buttons, brads, rhinestones, ribbon, ect.) as a thank you for your loyalty.

I look forward to serving you with this new offer!

World Card Making Day

I hope you were inspired to create a card on Saturday, October 5th World Card Making Day!
I made several cards, but this one was my favorite!
I wanted to share with you how I made it so that you can create one of your own.
I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and with my Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry ink pads and sponges I sponged randomly to create this look.  After I was happy with the look I then took the
leaf from my Best of Autumn stamp set and inked it with Soft Suede ink.  I stamped my image several times.  I then took another sponge and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink again.
I then just finished the card as seen by mounting it on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, then Very Vanilla.  I used a piece of designer series paper from the Sweater Weather pack under the Chocolate Chip Chevron Ribbon and stamped the "Give Thanks" sentiment again from my Best of Autumn Stamp Set.  A beautiful card to send anyone this fall season!

Halloween is coming!

Before you know it parents will be
dressing their kids up and sorting through
bags of candy!  Halloween is a holiday
that people seem to either love or hate.
I personally really like Halloween.
Especially since we've had children it really
makes you enjoy the little things in life.
Although I may not know what are children
will be dressing up as this Halloween just
yet, I assure you I already have a stack of
cute little Halloween cards ready to go out
to my friends and family!
This cute little card really showcases
our Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape #132156.  I took a 3"X4" piece of Whisper White cardstock and covered it with the washi tape, then used my Extra Large Oval Punch (#119859)  to create a "window".
Using the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from my Delightful Dozen (WM#128547, CM#122652) I stamped with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder.  You could definitely use Pumpkin Pie embossing powder if you had that on hand too!
Using some Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119261) I tied a quick bow and put one of those adorable little Summer Starfruit buttons left over from my Halloween Banner Kit on top with a glue dot.  On the inside of the card I used my Halloween Happiness stamp set (#131859) in pumpkin pie ink and ran another strip of my Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape along the side.
I hope you enjoy this cute Halloween card as much as I do!

Thanksgiving Framed Art

Sometimes its hard for me to understand why not EVERYONE loves paper as much as I do, but I do understand there are "card makers", "scrapbookers", ect.  Even for those who don't enjoy card making or scrapbooking would appreciate a nicely framed seasonal piece for their home.
This beautiful piece is made using some of the new products in the Holiday Catalog as well as things found in the annual catalog as well.  These framed art pieces can be so much fun to put together.  There are so many different possibilities, they truly are endless.  My absolute favorite thing about Framed Art is that you can showcase some of your favorite products in one place that is always out to be viewed and appreciated.  Although these are simple to create, they are so much fun to study and appreciate their true beauty in all of their glory of fabulous Stampin' Up! Products.
