Sheltering Tree Prayers

This simple card is created with just 2 stamp sets and 2 ink colors. No fancy techniques, no embellishments, no kidding!  It starts with 3 pieces of paper:

Naturals White Card Stock: 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Early Espresso Card Stock: 5 1/4" X 4"
Naturals White Card Stock: 5" X 3 3/4"

Now, I do realize that the Naturals White Card Stock has sold out as it was on the retiring list.  With that being said you could absolutely make this card with Whisper White as well.

Start by stamping on a Stampin' Pierce Mat.  That's very important with this stamp set.  You'll get a much better image that way.
Stamp the tree image around the outside of your card with Early Espresso Ink.  Then stamp the Praying for You... sentiment in the middle of the trees.
With your Mossy Meadow ink stamp the leaves onto the trees and stamp once more without re-inking your stamp on the same tree.  This will create some dimension in darker and lighter leaves.

That's it!  Yep!  Now just use SNAIL adhesive to attach your stamped piece to your Early Espresso piece and then to your card base.

Painted Blooms Vases

Here's a simple, yet pretty card we'll be doing at my Just Cards Class tonight!

Although the Vivid Vases set was originally thought to work best for markering or Blendabilities (which I'm still sad about) it can be used all kinds of ways.  You do NOT have to color it in...there are no rules in paper crafting!  Just have fun!

To give the flowers their appearance on each vase, I punched out a piece of Painted Blooms DSP trying to align the center of a flower in the center of each punch.  Then use Glue Dots to adhere them to each flower!  I left the 'lilac' looking flower without a punch and colored it in for a little something different!

I'll miss you the most...

Some of you have seen this card before.  I don't know the date I originally did it, but it's a favorite of mine.  When the retiring list came out, like most demonstrators, I sat and went through the retiring stamp set lists and grumbled and groaned at some of the ones slated for retirement.  Regarding Dahlias is by far one of my favorite sets.  I love the image as well as the sentiments in this set.

Add Blackberry Bliss and the Emboss Resist technique and you have the recipe for one of my favorite cards of all time.  I love the edgy yet earthy feel to this card.  It's simple, yet has a wow factor sure to make everyone say "how did you do that?"

I will say I'm beyond excited about the new catalog being announced and can't wait to see what Stampin' Up! has in store for us, so loosing an old favorite stings...but not for long!

Stay tuned for more flashback projects using retiring products as well as some new ones!
