This Pop Up Slider Card is much easier than it looks and takes no time at all to do!
The best part is it fits in a regular A2 size envelope, so send those extra special people this beautiful card for Christmas this year without any extra postage!
Here's how to make it, check out the video!
You'll need:
A piece of Card Stock or DSP 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"
A piece of coordinating Card Stock 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and 3 1/4" X 4 3/4"
Stampin' Trimmer
A hole punch, a ribbon of your choice, Sticky Strip and stamps
On your trimmer, take your piece of DSP in the portrait orrientation (the 4 1/4" length across the top) and line it up with the 3/4" mark on the right side of your trimmer. Using the cutting blade cut a slit from 3/4" to 4 3/4". Rotate the paper 180 degrees and do the same on the other side. You should now have two slits in your paper. Rotate it 90 degrees so it's now in landscape orrientation. Line it up on the right at 5/8" and cut between the two slits you previously created. This will create a flap, think of it as an alligator mouth : ) Now with the alligator mouth towards the Trimmer arm, line it up at 1 1/4" on the right and score between the cut lines in landscape orrientation. Then flip the paper 180 degrees and line it up at 3" on the left and score, then 4 3/4" on the left and score.
Starting with the small fold, fold it up, the next fold down and the last fold up creating peaks and valleys.
Stack your DSP with your 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" piece of Card Stock. Using a circle punch or small oval punch, punch out a 1/2 circle at the top of your two pieces. The open alligator mouth should be at the bottom. This is the thumb space where your ribbon will be.
Flip your piece of DSP over, so now we're looking at the back side. Put a piece of Sticky Strip along that small fold at the bottom of your cut piece. Also put one on either sides edge in portrait orrientation. The sticky strip should be on the outside piece, not the flap. Only the small folded piece should have sticky strip on the flap.
Remove the small fold's sticky strip and line up your piece of 3 1/4" X 4 3/4" in portrait orrientation. You want the bottom to be flush with a little overhang on either side.
Now remove the Sticky Strip on the other two pieces. Using the lip at the bottom of your trimmer, stack the DSP and the piece of Card Stock together, lining them up before securing them together.
Now pull your tab at the top, the mechinism should work by pulling the 'trap door' up.
Punch a hole at the top of your pull tab to thread some ribbon.
Stamp the two pieces as seen above and embellish the front panel as you wish.
Just be sure you only add adhesive to the lower portion of your embellishement so it doesn't catch and tear your paper when you go to open it!
You could easily you Card Stock only for this project, you don't have to use DSP, I just love the Trim the Tree Paper Stack!
