Lovely Amazing You Card

I make cards...lots and lots of cards.  Classes, blog posts, Pinterest, YouTube...birthdays, new babies, sympathy, thinking of you...you name it, I've a gazillion cards for it.  Everyone once in a while you create a card that you just stand back and say, "oh my...I love this, really love this".  This card is that card for me.  I have no idea what is it about it that makes me swoon, but it does.  Maybe it's the new stamp set, the touch of embossing or the simplicity.  Whatever the reason, I adore this card.

When you look at it, it's really quite simple.  Coastal Cabana Card Stock base measuring 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  A piece of Gold Fancy Vellum that measures 5 1/4" X 4".  A piece of Whisper White measuring 5 1/4" X 4" for the inside panel, a piece of scrap Whisper White and a Tea Lace Doily.  To get the Vellum attached to the front of the card, place Glue Dots behind some of the gold hearts around the outside edge of the Vellum.  This way you will hide the adhesive, but securely attaching the vellum to the card stock.

Place a bit of SNAIL adhesive on the back of the Doily and place it towards the right side of the card.  Wrap around some White Cotton Twine and tie it in a bow.  Now we need to create the sentiment part.  Stamp the feather image with Coastal Cabana ink 3 times without reinking.  This will create the image you see about.  Then use your Embossing Buddy to prepare the card stock for the embossing.  Using either Gold Encore Pad or VersaMark Ink, stamp your sentiment of choice on top of the feathers.  Then sprinkle your gold embossing powder on top and shake off the excess.  Heat Emboss it with your Heat Tool until the embossing melts and looks shiny.  Punch out the sentiment with a 2 1/2" circle punch and adhere it to the doily with Dimensionals.

Delicate Irresistibly Yours Butterfly

I saw this technique done by fellow demonstrator Susan Campfield and it was love at first sight!  She used the medium sized butterfly instead of this large one, but it was her card that inspired me to give this a try!  The Irresistibly Yours Paper is in the Sale-a-Bration brochure and one of the items you can choose for free with a $50 order.  Click HERE to see it and all the other choices!
It's probably my favorite choice for the simple fact that I love the emboss resist technique and this just makes it a breeze!

To create this card you will need the following paper:

Whisper White 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Whisper White 5 1/4" X 4
Irresistibly Yours Paper 5" X 3 3/4"

With the piece of Whisper White that measures 5 1/4" X 4 use your Big Shot to cut out the largest butterfly being sure to center it.  This piece will serve not only as your butterfly cut out, but as the 'window' piece that will show the Irresistibly Yours paper underneath.
Now take a sponge or sponge dauber and your Tempting Turquoise classic Ink and color in the piece of Irresistibly Yours Paper.  Add some extra interest to your butterfly by adding more color to either side of the paper, letting the center of your butterfly be lighter.  You can also use a spritzer, a brayer, an Aqua Painter or even the ink pad itself to color the Irresistibly Yours Paper.
Once your paper is dry, use SNAIL adhesive to adhere it to the 'window' piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then use Dimensionals on the back of that piece to adhere it to the front of the card.
With Glue Dots behind the body of the butterfly, place it in the center right back in place of where it was cut out.  The wings of the butterfly should naturally curl up just a bit giving this beautiful card even more dimension and interest.

Last but not least you can put your favorite sentiment on the inside.  I use a lot of thank you cards, and this Watercolor Thank You stamp is one of my all time faves and seemed perfect for this card.
Remember that you can only get the beautiful Irresistibly Yours Paper as a FREE choice when you spend $50 at my online store until March 31st, 2015.

Envelope Punch Board Easter Box

I love creating super cute treat projects for my children's classmates and Easter is just around the corner!  I often create projects around a need and in this case I picked up some Easter Fun Dip Candy pouches at my local grocery store and needed a way to 'cute' them up for my kids to give their friends.  The Envelope punch board is of course my go to envelope maker, but also great for making shallow boxes like this one for treat containers!  As you can see it nicely fits the Fun Dip pouch and does it with style!  So lets get started with the instructions!

Paper Directions:
Bermuda Bay Card Stock 7 1/2" X 7 1/2"
Best Year Ever DSP (Sale-a-Bration) 1" X 12"
Scrap of Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Whisper White

Place your Bermuda Bay card stock on the Envelope Punch Board with the left hand corner lined up with the 3 1/2" mark.  Punch and score.  Move your paper 1/2" to the left to the 4" line and punch and score again.  Now rotate your paper counter-clockwise and line up the punch tail with one of the two score lines.  Punch and score again.  Move the paper 1/2" in either direction to line up the other score line and punch and score again.  Continue to turn the paper in a counter-clockwise direction, punching and scoring as you go until all four sides are complete.  Now using the reverse punch, punch all 4 corners, rounding them.  Set the Punch Board aside.  Now using your Paper Snips, trim off the squares that are created in each of the four corners of your card stock.  Burnish all of the score lines (boxes love strong creases!)  Now we are going to put the box together.  The flap on the left hand side needs to be folded over completely.  You should be able to see the 1/2" scored space you created.  The right flap should be folded over so that you cannot see the 1/2" scored space, it will be against the table.  Using a few Glue Dots on the underside tip of the right flap, push down to adhere it to the left flap.  Now when you pop the box up it will be completely even.  Using Fast Fuse adhesive or Sticky Strip, apply to strips along the sides of the bottom flap and bring it up to complete your box.
Now for the belly band you will either need a Simply Scored Scoring Tool or Stampin' Trimmer.  Score the piece of DSP at 2 1/2", 3", 7 3/8" and 7 7/8".  Burnish these score lines carefully.  Place your candy inside the box, close the flap and proceed to wrap the DSP around the box with the two end pieces toward the front.  Use adhesive to secure to two pieces being sure to do it tight enough that it won't fall off the box, but not so tight you can't slide the belly band off.

Now for the stamping!  Using the Happy, Hoppy Easter sentiment and egg image, stamp a piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  Punch the image out with a 2" circle punch.  Use the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch for the Bermuda Bay piece and a 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the Calypso Coral piece.  Use SNAIL adhesive to adhere the Whisper White layer to the Bermuda Bay and then a Dimensional to adhere that to the Calypso Coral piece.  Use SNAIL adhesive on the back of the Calypso Coral circle to adhere it to your belly band and your box is complete!
