I make cards...lots and lots of cards. Classes, blog posts, Pinterest, YouTube...birthdays, new babies, sympathy, thinking of you...you name it, I've a gazillion cards for it. Everyone once in a while you create a card that you just stand back and say, "oh my...I love this, really love this". This card is that card for me. I have no idea what is it about it that makes me swoon, but it does. Maybe it's the new stamp set, the touch of embossing or the simplicity. Whatever the reason, I adore this card.
When you look at it, it's really quite simple. Coastal Cabana Card Stock base measuring 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". A piece of Gold Fancy Vellum that measures 5 1/4" X 4". A piece of Whisper White measuring 5 1/4" X 4" for the inside panel, a piece of scrap Whisper White and a Tea Lace Doily. To get the Vellum attached to the front of the card, place Glue Dots behind some of the gold hearts around the outside edge of the Vellum. This way you will hide the adhesive, but securely attaching the vellum to the card stock.
Place a bit of SNAIL adhesive on the back of the Doily and place it towards the right side of the card. Wrap around some White Cotton Twine and tie it in a bow. Now we need to create the sentiment part. Stamp the feather image with Coastal Cabana ink 3 times without reinking. This will create the image you see about. Then use your Embossing Buddy to prepare the card stock for the embossing. Using either Gold Encore Pad or VersaMark Ink, stamp your sentiment of choice on top of the feathers. Then sprinkle your gold embossing powder on top and shake off the excess. Heat Emboss it with your Heat Tool until the embossing melts and looks shiny. Punch out the sentiment with a 2 1/2" circle punch and adhere it to the doily with Dimensionals.
