Super Cute Treat Box

This cute little treat box starts with an old standby, the 2,4,6,8 box.  If you have never done one, they are the most simple and easy to remember box because the measurements are in the name!  You start with a piece of cardstock, or in this case Designer Series Paper, that measures 5 1/2 X 8 1/2.  Using your Simply Scored (although you could certainly do this on the Stampin' Trimmer as well) with the long side at the top score at 2", 4", 6" and 8".  Turn it with the short side on the top and score at 2".  Easy, right!?  Then you want to trim the "small rectangle" that is created, leave the longer rectangle, but completely remove the 2" X 1/2" rectangle that is created.  Then just trim up all those score lines, place some sticky strip on the skinny (1/2") rectangle, fold over to create your box.  Normally at this stage you would just fold up and adhere the bottom of your box and then decorate, but to create this cute little treat box you want to fold the box up so that its one piece that's 2" wide.  Slide the top into your Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and punch.  It will take a little more effort than normal of course, but it isn't difficult.  Once you have the top punched then you can continue to put the rest of the box together by adhering the bottom up.  Then all you have to do is take some ribbon and thread it through the holes, and gently pull the box closed and tie a knot or bow, decorate and that's it!  A super cute Valentine's Day Project!!  I accented mine simply with the Valentine's Day sentiment "Be Mine" from A Round Array in Melon Mambo ink to match my ribbon of course!
